lineup of Jeep and Chevrolet cars at a dealership event

At Ray Chevrolet of Fox Lake, community engagement and support are at the heart of everything we do. This year, we proudly participated in the Annual Drive for the Troops Event, in collaboration with the USO of Illinois. With the help of our wonderful community, we raised an impressive $5,000 to directly support military service members and their families.

This event was much more than a fundraiser—it was a celebration of community spirit and gratitude for those who serve. Here’s a recap of the highlights that made this year’s event truly memorable.

A Day Full of Fun and Purpose

The Annual Drive For The Troops Event brought people together in a meaningful way. From thrilling rides in test drives to a mouthwatering BBQ, every activity helped raise both awareness and funds for an important cause.

Test Drive for a Cause

Visitors had the unique opportunity to “Drive for a Cause” and experience the latest Chevrolet models up close, all while giving back to the USO of Illinois. For every test drive taken during the event, a generous donation was made to the USO. Participants got to enjoy the excitement of exploring our vehicles while playing an active role in supporting military families.

Car Show Extravaganza

Car enthusiasts were in for a treat with an impressive display of vehicles at the car show. The event saw participation from the Jeeps on the Run group and the Illinois Camaro Club, showcasing an array of amazing vehicles that drew attention and admiration from attendees. Their presence added an extra layer of excitement, bringing together car lovers of all ages.

BBQ and Community Fun

No community event is complete without great food, and our BBQ offerings didn’t disappoint. Families bonded over delicious bites while enjoying the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The Round Lake Beach Police Department also joined the event, fostering a stronger connection between local law enforcement and our community.

Supporting the USO of Illinois

For over a decade, Ray Chevrolet has consistently supported the USO of Illinois through events like this. Since 2013, we have proudly contributed more than $55,000 to this vital organization. These funds play a crucial role in sustaining the USO’s initiatives, which include providing essential programs, services, and resources to service members and their families.

Our contribution at this year’s event further reinforces our commitment to driving positive change. We are deeply honored to be part of a community that shares our dedication to supporting and appreciating our military.

Looking Ahead to 2026

With the incredible success of this year’s Drive For The Troops Event, we’re already looking forward to continuing this tradition in 2026. Ray Chevrolet remains committed to making an impact not just through quality vehicles and exceptional service, but through active involvement in events and causes that uplift the community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at this event and helped make it such a success. Together, we’re not just driving cars—we’re driving change. Stay tuned for more community-focused events, and remember, when you visit Ray Chevrolet, you’re backed by a dealership that cares about you and the causes that matter most to all of us.

Safety feature braking system designed to avoid car accident, especially at traffic lights. Concept for driver assista

Every August 5th, we come together to recognize National Traffic Light Day—a tribute to one of transportation’s most important safety innovations. At Ray Chevrolet in Fox Lake, we view this day as the perfect chance to highlight intersection safety and how Chevrolet’s latest safety features help safeguard our local community.

Intersections connect our journeys but can also be high-risk areas for accidents and injuries. With Chevrolet’s advanced safety technology complementing the work of traffic lights, drivers in Fox Lake and the surrounding areas gain additional peace of mind at every crossing.

National Traffic Light Day

The first electric traffic light debuted on August 5, 1914, in Cleveland, Ohio. That simple but revolutionary red, amber, and green system changed driving forever. Since then, traffic lights have become a familiar part of daily life, consistently guiding vehicles and pedestrians through intersections and helping reduce the risk of collisions.

Throughout Fox Lake and neighboring communities, traffic signals remain the backbone of safe intersections. We often take them for granted, but these devices keep traffic flowing smoothly and play a vital role in preventing accidents during every hour of the day.

Intersection Safety: Why It Matters

Despite universal traffic signals, intersection accidents remain a significant concern in the United States. According to the Federal Highway Administration, about one-quarter of traffic fatalities and half of all road injuries in the U.S. take place at intersections.

Red light running remains one of the deadliest issues. In 2023, crashes caused by running red lights resulted in 1,086 deaths, with half of those lost being pedestrians, bicyclists, and other non-violators. Signalized intersections also pose serious risks. In 2022, 4,204 people lost their lives in crashes at signalized intersections, and over 1,200 of those deaths involved drivers running red lights. Another alarming statistic highlights driver behavior—someone runs a red light roughly every 20 minutes at urban intersections during rush hours. While most drivers agree that running red lights is unsafe, nearly one in three admit to having done it recently.

These statistics emphasize the importance of intersection safety for both roadway planners and car manufacturers. By combining effective traffic engineering with modern vehicle safety technologies, we can create safer roads and protect everyone who uses them.

Chevrolet Safety Features for Intersection Protection

At Ray Chevrolet, we’re proud to offer vehicles equipped with the latest Chevy Safety Assist systems, engineered to help drivers avoid common intersection hazards and protect passengers, pedestrians, and other road users.

Forward Collision Alert & Automatic Emergency Braking

By monitoring traffic ahead, these systems warn drivers about possible collisions—and can apply the brakes automatically if there’s no time to react. This extra layer of protection is especially important if a driver is momentarily distracted while approaching a red light.

Front Pedestrian Braking

Intersections often see heavy pedestrian traffic, making this feature especially valuable. It detects people crossing in front of the vehicle and can apply the brakes to help avoid a potentially tragic accident. Pedestrian safety is a priority for our entire community.

Following Distance Indicator

It’s easy to unintentionally follow another car too closely, particularly as traffic comes to a stop at red lights. The Following Distance Indicator provides real-time feedback to help drivers keep a safe buffer, reducing the risk of rear-end collisions—one of the most common intersection incidents.

Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning

Navigating turns and waiting at complex intersections can sometimes cause drivers to drift out of their lane. This system gently corrects steering and provides alerts if the vehicle begins to travel outside its lane, which can prevent sideswipes and other lane-related accidents.

IntelliBeam® Automatic High-Beam Headlights

Visibility can be reduced at night, especially at busy crossroads. IntelliBeam automatically switches between high and low beams, improving sightlines for drivers while reducing glare for others—making late-night travel through intersections safer for everyone.

Additional Safety Innovations

Other available features, such as Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking and Side Bicyclist Alert, provide extra assurance when you’re exiting intersections or navigating areas with multiple lanes and heavy road use.

A Partnership in Safety

National Traffic Light Day reminds us that our most effective safety solutions come from working together—as a community, as drivers, and as advocates for better technology. Traffic lights and Chevrolet’s safety features form a powerful partnership to keep intersections safer for everyone.

At Ray Chevrolet, our commitment to safety spans generations. Since 1963, we’ve proudly served Fox Lake families and supported our local neighborhoods. For us, safety isn’t just about selling vehicles; it’s about building lasting relationships and helping every driver feel confident, prepared, and protected on the road.

Whether your route takes you through Crystal Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, or right here in Fox Lake, you deserve a vehicle that looks out for you and your loved ones. Modern Chevrolet safety features are not a substitute for careful driving, but they provide an invaluable backup when seconds matter.

Visit Ray Chevrolet to experience these innovative safety systems in action with any of our quality modern vehicles. Our team is here to answer your questions and guide you toward finding the right vehicle for your needs. When it comes to intersection safety—on National Traffic Light Day and every day—trust us to keep you moving forward with confidence and care.

New Chevrolet Silverado truck

Chevrolet’s 2026 Silverado lineup raises the bar for capability and technology. Whether you’re seeking a truck for demanding work, rugged adventures, or comfortable daily drives, the Silverado 1500 and HD ZR2 offer features and performance to meet every expectation. Here’s what makes these trucks stand out.

2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The latest Silverado 1500 remains a versatile leader in the full-size truck segment, with a broad range of cab and bed options, several engine choices, and trims ranging from essential work trucks to luxury models.

Updates for 2026 include a standard Technology Package and Multi-Flex tailgate for the ZR2 trim, a new Realtree Appearance Package, and fresh colors like White Sands and Polar White Tricoat. Chevy has retired some previous paint choices to make room for these new finishes.

Under the hood, the Silverado 1500 offers four engines:

  • The TurboMax 2.7L turbo-four, with 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, balances efficiency and everyday power.
  • The Duramax 3.0L turbo-diesel I-6 delivers 305 horsepower and an impressive 495 lb-ft of torque, giving it the best towing ability—up to 13,300 lbs—and the longest driving range, over 600 miles.
  • For more muscle, a 5.3L V-8 (355 hp/383 lb-ft) and a 6.2L V-8 (420 hp/460 lb-ft) are available, with the latter reaching 0-60 mph in just 5.5 seconds.

Inside, the Silverado 1500 offers a variety of experiences based on trim. Entry-level versions stick with practical basics, while LT models and above add a 13.4-inch touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, and upscale finishes. Higher trims also feature wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, advanced navigation, and available Bose audio. Super Cruise, Chevy’s hands-free highway driving system, is also offered on select models for greater convenience.

The ZR2 trim is considered the off-road flagship. It’s equipped with Multimatic DSSV dampers, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and a steel front bumper for improved off-road angles. This all makes the ZR2 exceptionally capable on rugged trails while maintaining comfort and premium tech inside.

2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2

Designed for serious heavy-duty work and adventure, the 2026 Silverado HD ZR2 combines massive power with authentic off-road capabilities. For 2026, it includes the Technology Package and Multi-Flex tailgate as standard, plus new paint options Glacier White Tricoat and Coastal Dune.

The HD ZR2 comes exclusively as a Crew Cab and offers two powerhouse engines: a 6.6L gasoline V-8 with 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, and a mighty 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 putting out 470 horsepower and a stunning 975 lb-ft of torque. Both are paired to a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission for smooth performance and towing confidence.

Off-road, the HD ZR2 stands out with Multimatic DSSV dampers, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, and optimized approach, breakover, and departure angles. This makes it equally adept on the jobsite or the trail. Inside, you’ll find leather appointments, a 13.4-inch touchscreen, digital driver display, and generous space for crew and cargo.

Chevrolet’s Role in GM’s EV Sales Dominance

Chevrolet has been a major driving force behind GM’s rapid climb to become the #2 EV seller in the U.S. market. Through May 2025, GM sold over 62,000 EVs, with Chevrolet’s own lineup accounting for more than 37,000 units. By surpassing Ford’s EV sales within the same time frame, Chevrolet has emerged as the fastest-growing domestic EV brand.

What’s powering this growth? A combination of diverse models catering to every need, from full-size trucks like the Silverado EV to entry-level SUVs like the Equinox EV. Add in impressive range, cutting-edge features such as GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving tech, and a commitment to affordability, and it’s easy to see why Chevrolet is resonating with more EV drivers than ever before.

The Future of EV Models Fueling Chevrolet’s Success

Chevrolet’s current EV lineup showcases a perfect blend of innovation, performance, and sustainability. From rugged trucks to budget-friendly options, there’s something for everyone.

Chevrolet Silverado EV

Chevrolet Equinox EV

This compact crossover has become a fan favorite for its practicality and affordability. With an all-wheel-drive option offering 307 miles of range, it’s a perfect combination of style and function that meets everyday needs.

The Future of Chevrolet’s EV Lineup

Chevrolet isn’t stopping with its current success. With its sights set on innovation and leadership, several exciting new models are poised to solidify its prominence in the EV market.

2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV

The 2026 Equinox EV raises the bar for accessibility and functionality. Starting at around $35,000, it offers multiple configurations, including front-wheel and all-wheel-drive options. Its 307-mile range and new Midnight appearance package add flair and practicality for eco-conscious drivers. Need to top off the battery? DC fast charging adds 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The Equinox EV balances style and sustainability with features like a digital dashboard, 17.7-inch touchscreen, and customizable trims like the RS monotone paint scheme. With the flexibility to upgrade for additional comfort and safety features, it’s designed to meet a diverse range of driver needs.

2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Chevrolet’s game-changing Bolt EV is being reborn for a new generation of EV drivers. Expected to start at under $30,000, the Bolt will be GM’s most affordable electric model yet. It’s designed to offer up to 300 miles of range, thanks to GM’s Ultium battery platform and lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) technology, which reduces costs without sacrificing performance.

Chevrolet also plans to enhance the Bolt’s aerodynamics and deliver a more engaging driving experience, all while keeping its interior user-friendly and tech-forward.

A Commitment to Charging Infrastructure

Chevrolet and GM are also making significant investments in charging infrastructure to support EV adoption. GM now offers access to over 250,000 public chargers across North America. The collaboration between Pilot Company, EVgo Inc., and GM has resulted in more than 130 fast-charging locations across 25+ states.

Additionally, GM is part of a joint venture, Ionna, which plans to introduce 30,000 charging bays by 2030, ensuring that EV drivers have access to convenient and reliable charging wherever they go.

When it comes to the new wave of electric vehicles (EVs) blending performance and practicality, the 2025 Chevy Blazer SS and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N stand out. Both vehicles promise an engaging driving experience, stunning power, and functionality, but how do they stack up against each other? Here’s a detailed side-by-side comparison, with a spotlight on why the Blazer SS makes a compelling case for EV enthusiasts looking for excitement and everyday utility.

Performance

Chevy Blazer SS:

The Chevy Blazer SS boasts an impressive 615 horsepower with all-wheel drive, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. It offers over 300 miles of all-electric range, making it both powerful and practical. Handling is enhanced with stiffer anti-roll bars, monotube dampers, sporty steering calibration, and performance-tuned springs, delivering tight cornering and stability whether on the track or winding backroads. Although it’s 400 pounds heavier than the Ioniq 5 N, its advanced engineering ensures a refined feel and precise control.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N:

The car delivers impressive performance with 601 horsepower as standard, which increases to 641 horsepower when “N Grin Boost” is activated. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds with the boost engaged. However, its range is limited to 221 miles due to the smaller 84-kW battery. Designed for track enthusiasts, the car features advanced suspension, precise steering, and enhanced sound effects, making it lively and dynamic for spirited driving. That said, it may be less comfortable for everyday commuting.

Verdict: The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N edges ahead in raw speed and track-focused features, but the Blazer SS offers a more balanced performance package suitable for both thrill-seekers and daily drivers.

Range

For electric vehicles, range is a crucial factor, and the Chevy Blazer SS clearly takes the lead in this area. With over 300 miles of range, it offers confidence for longer drives and reduces the need for frequent stops at charging stations. In comparison, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N falls short with a range of just 221 miles, which could limit its practicality for daily use and long-distance travel. If range anxiety is a concern, the Chevy Blazer SS is the clear winner with its superior all-electric cruising capabilities.

Interior Design and Technology

Chevy Blazer SS:

  • Infotainment: Features a 17.7-inch central touchscreen alongside an 11-inch driver info screen.
  • Unique Design: Turbine-style air vents add a retro-modern touch to the sleek interior, offering both style and function.
  • Seating Comfort: Well-cushioned seats with firm bolstering, ideal for maintaining comfort while pushing through sharp corners.
  • Cargo Space: 26 cubic feet behind the second row and up to 59 cubic feet with seats down, providing ample room for gear and groceries.
  • Unique Features: Although it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, GM’s extensive tech suite delivers a user-friendly interface.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N:

  • Infotainment: Dual 12.3-inch screens with an intuitive layout.
  • Sporty Vibes: Driver-focused design, firm bolstered seating, and adjustable visual/audio elements that enhance its playful, racetrack-oriented personality.
  • Cargo Space: Comparable to the Blazer SS, though slightly optimized for utility rather than performance-grade design elements.
  • Unique Features: N Grin Boost mode along with artificial sounds and simulated gear shifts feel innovative, but not everyone may enjoy the gimmick.

Verdict: The Blazer SS leans into a more versatile design, balancing modern aesthetics with daily usability, whereas the Ioniq 5 N caters to adrenaline junkies who prioritize track-ready tech.

Is Chevy Investing More in Balance for the Future?

Chevy’s approach with the Blazer SS highlights a broader trend in its EV lineup, combining performance with practicality. While competitors, including Hyundai, lean into niche design concepts like rally-ready trims (Ioniq 5 XRT), Chevy aims for a wider audience.

The Blazer SS and smaller Equinox EV demonstrate Chevy’s commitment to catering to both casual and sporty EV drivers. The Equinox EV is a celebrated example, offering a practical 319-mile range at a budget-friendly price, while still retaining style and family-focused features. Chevy could potentially broaden the Blazer EV’s lineup by incorporating an off-road Z71 variant, offering enthusiasts access to rugged terrain capabilities without compromising too much on its performance DNA.

Through vehicles like the Blazer SS and Equinox EV, Chevrolet positions itself as a leader in creating EVs that appeal to both thrill-seekers and everyday drivers alike.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 Chevy Blazer SS and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N share one goal: redefining what a truly fun EV can be. Yet, they achieve this in different ways.

Choose the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N if you want to prioritize track-day performance, cutting-edge sound immersion, and an aggressive personality with slightly less concern for practicality or range.

Opt for the Chevy Blazer SS if you want a robust, performance-oriented EV that doesn’t compromise on daily usability, offers superior range, and has the versatility of a sport wagon. This adaptable mix of power, practicality, and technology makes the Blazer SS a strong contender in the electric SUV market.

A portrait of a red and black Chevy Corvette C8 3LT sports car traveling near the McKenney Parking Garage in the downtown financial district of Houston.

Chevrolet is taking driver-focused design to an entirely new level with the interior redesign of the 2026 Corvette. Whether you’re a devoted Corvette enthusiast or an auto aficionado closely following the latest innovations, the updates in this mid-cycle refresh are hard to ignore. Packed with cutting-edge technology, refined craftsmanship, and thoughtful ergonomic improvements, the 2026 Corvette interior amplifies both luxury and performance.

A Driver-Centered Evolution

The 2026 Corvette’s interior has been redesigned to put the driver in control and elevate the driving experience. The “Great Wall of Buttons” from previous C8 models is gone, replaced with a sleeker, more conventional center console featuring a reconfigured layout, larger screens, and improved usability.

The passenger gets a new grab handle in place of the old buttons, perfect for holding on during spirited drives. The redesigned console prioritizes driver accessibility, relocating the drive-mode selectors adjacent to the gear shifter and positioning physical climate controls beneath the 12.7-inch touchscreen.

And the star of the redesign? The screens.

Tech Upgrade: The Triple-Screen Display

Chevrolet has transformed the C8’s interior with three thoughtfully configured screens, solidifying the Corvette’s position as a luxury-performance leader in the sports car segment.

  • 14-Inch Digital Instrument Cluster

The driver has an expansive digital dashboard with customizable displays offering crucial readouts like speed, navigation, and high-performance metrics.

  • 12.7-Inch Center Touchscreen

The infotainment screen has grown significantly, now boasting Google Built-in compatibility. Drivers can interact with apps, streaming services, and even games while parked, blending tech-driven convenience with entertainment.

  • 6.6-Inch Driver-Specific Auxiliary Screen

Positioned to the left of the steering wheel, this driver-configurable touchscreen brings essential data to your fingertips. It delivers in-depth updates on traction management settings, trip metrics, and system performance data. It’s especially vital in hybrid E-Ray or high-performance ZR1 trims, where monitoring features like battery output or turbo boost is key.

Performance Apps with a Purpose

Chevy’s updated Performance App is better than it’s ever been. From real-time G-force gauges to live fluid temperature feeds, the system now allows drivers to track every aspect of their Corvette’s behavior. And that’s not all. A revamped Performance Data Recorder brings lap-time analysis and video reviews directly into play, letting drivers optimize their technique for an edge on the track.

Chevrolet ensures that these tools, while tech-heavy, remain intuitive to access. The head-up display, acceleration timers, and even the integration of new animations for Tour, Sport, and Track drive modes keep everything highly engaging while maintaining practicality.

Redesigned for Craftsmanship and Comfort

Chevy didn’t just add tech enhancements—they upgraded materials and craftsmanship for a premium look and feel. Options like Ultimate Suede and striking new color palettes give the 2026 Corvette a bespoke luxury interior.

Chevrolet also debuts its first-ever asymmetrical interior design, emphasizing driver focus. Picture Adrenaline Red accents on the driver’s side, seamlessly transitioning to Jet Black for the passenger. This bold design creates a clear separation, adding a driver-centric, racetrack-inspired aesthetic.

New color options, including Santorini Blue and Very Dark Atmosphere, are available across the lineup. Whether cruising city streets or hitting the track, your Corvette’s cabin will exude style and craftsmanship.

Convenience Meets Everyday Usability

The 2026 Corvette’s interior blends performance with modern convenience, offering features designed for everyday driving. A wireless charging pad is strategically placed for secure and efficient device charging, even during sharp maneuvers. Upgraded cupholders boast ambient lighting, aluminum accents, and improved positioning for style and practicality. For added luxury, the optional electrochromic Targa top lets drivers adjust the roof’s tint across three settings, providing more light or shade as needed.

Focus on Performance

While the new interior is a highlight, the 2026 Corvette hasn’t neglected its athletic DNA. The Performance Traction Management (PTM) system gets a “Pro” mode, which disables stability and traction controls while keeping ABS active. This feature, combined with the ZR1’s upgraded carbon ceramic brakes, equips drivers with the most performance-ready braking system in Corvette history. Whether on winding backroads or a competitive race circuit, the updated C8 reigns supreme with bespoke attention to speed, stopping power, and safety.

Final Thoughts on the 2026 Corvette Interior

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette isn’t just an upgrade to the C8; it redefines modern sports car interiors. With a triple-screen setup, premium materials, and ergonomic updates, Chevy has created a cabin truly built for the driver.

Blending sophistication with functionality, the 2026 Corvette lineup cements its reputation for style and innovation. Whether you choose the Stingray or the ZR1, the new Corvette delivers an unmatched driving experience with added luxury.

West Harrison - September 5, 2024: Chevrolet Silverado EV RST Electric Pickup display. Chevy offers the Silverado EV RST with up to 440 mile range. MY:2024

Chicago-based utility provider ComEd has a simple yet lofty goal: one million electric vehicles on Illinois roads by the year 2030.

And to hit that mark… they’re ready to put their money where their charging stations are.

Com-Ed is offering a total of $100 million in rebates to help drive EV growth in the state of Illinois. The rebate program – part of a larger state-wide effort to boost the number of EV drivers in the state – aims to reduce the costs of installing EV charging hubs in homes, businesses, and public sites throughout northern Illinois.

What’s Included in the Rebate Program?
ComEd announced the initiative on February 6 of this year. It follows a program from 2024, which provided $87 million in rebates to build out charging infrastructure in the Chicago area and most of northern Illinois. This year, the power company is investing an additional $13 million to help the state reach their electric goal.

In total, ComEd’s 2025 program will provide:

✅ $53 million in rebates for businesses and public sector EV fleet purchases, including small businesses that buy at least one EV for commercial use.
✅ $38 million for required upgrades needed to install public and private Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations for non-residential customers.
✅ $9 million to residential customers to help offset purchase and installation costs of at-home Level 2 charging – with rebates of up to $3,750 per charger!

Click here for more information on ComEd’s EV rebate program!

Do You Know About EV Rebates?
Outside of ComEd’s initiative, many EV owners don’t even realize they’re already entitled to government incentives. When you purchase a new or used EV, you could qualify for a government-backed tax credit.

✅ If you buy a NEW electric vehicle, you may be eligible of a tax credit up to $7,500!
✅ If you buy a USED EV, you may qualify for up to $4,000!

The benefits to going green have already become more apparent in recent years. Factors that once seemed hinderances to electric vehicles in their early years, such as limited range, have turned into prime features. By switching to zero emissions, you’re doing more than simply eliminating your carbon footprint; you’re opening a door to reduced fuel costs, lower maintenance costs, and lower running costs.

International Color Day is this March 21st, a time to celebrate the brilliant shades that bring vibrancy to everything around us. But today, our focus is on something a bit different—cars. Once limited to shades of white, black, silver, and gray, the car industry is now experiencing a colorful renaissance. Bright, eye-catching hues like oranges, yellows, greens, and blues are taking over the streets, as if the rainbow has hopped into the driver’s seat! What’s fueling this shift, and which car models are embracing this bold new palette?

A Flashback to the Glory Days of Colorful Cars
Bright car colors aren’t new. In the 1920s, cars boasted vibrant shades like two-tone blues, fiery reds, and dazzling greens, thanks to paint innovations from companies like General Motors and DuPont. These cars weren’t just transportation—they were rolling art. By the 1930s, metallic paints even used real fish scales, creating colors like “Fish Silver Blue.”

Over time, practicality and global events dulled the color palette. From the muted tones of the Great Depression to Henry Ford’s famous line—“Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black”—cars shifted to safer, more subdued shades.

Today, grayscale still dominates, with white, black, gray, and silver consistently topping the charts. Why? It’s practical, good for resale, and, let’s face it, a little boring.

Why Fun Colors Are Making a Comeback
The tide is turning. Younger generations are pushing carmakers to add more personality to their palettes. Drivers no longer want to blend into a sea of neutral tones—they’re craving self-expression, and car manufacturers are finally listening.

From sleek oranges to retro greens, vibrant car colors are making a comeback, helping drivers stand out and add joy to their ride. A bold color can turn an ordinary car into something exciting. Plus, rare shades like yellow and green often have higher resale value.

Exciting Car Colors and Models to Watch
Here’s where things get really fun. Automakers are introducing shades that not only turn heads but redefine car paint as high art. Here are some of the most exciting standout models of 2025 cementing this trend:

1. Toyota Prius Prime – Maximum Yellow
Toyota is proving that hybrids don’t have to be dull with the Prius Prime’s bold “Maximum Yellow.” Bright, energetic, and unapologetically loud, this shade shouts personality and eco-conscious confidence from every angle. It’s a color for drivers who crave attention while making sustainable choices.

2. Chevrolet Corvette – Hysteria Purple Metallic
For those who want their ride to exude luxury and power with a splash of creativity, Chevrolet’s Corvette in “Hysteria Purple Metallic” is perfection. This deep, rich purple sparkles under the sun, making it a statement piece for adrenaline junkies with style.

3. Toyota Supra – Stratosphere Blue
The Toyota Supra has always been about speed and sleek design. Add “Stratosphere Blue” into the mix, and suddenly its reputation gets a vibrant upgrade. This shimmering blue suggests calm and control mixed with a sense of limitless possibility.

4. Chevrolet Camaro – Panther Black Matte
While black isn’t typically described as “bold,” the Chevrolet Camaro’s “Panther Black Matte” challenges convention. Its matte finish transforms a classic color into a modern, edgy masterpiece. For those who want understated drama, this one’s for you.

5. Toyota Tundra – Solar Octane
The Toyota Tundra is rugged and reliable, designed for tough terrains and endless adventure. Now it’s also … neon orange? Yep. The “Solar Octane” option ensures this truck is impossible to miss, radiating an infectious energy that matches its performance.

6. BMW XM – Urban Green
BMW’s “Urban Green” for the XM model nostalgic nods to earthy tones without being dull. It’s perfect for drivers who want to evoke nature while exuding sophistication on city streets. A strong yet calming green, this shade balances urban chic with outdoor flair.

Car Colors Are More Than Just Looks – They’re About You
Car colors are more influential than you might think. Vibrant hues are gaining popularity for several reasons. They allow drivers to express themselves and stand out, while bold colors reflect cultural trends like optimism and individuality. Rare colors like yellow or green often have higher resale value, and iconic car colors create lasting memories—think of your favorite childhood car. Was it red, blue, or green? These colors leave an impression.

A New Era of Color on the Road
International Color Day celebrates how vibrant hues bring life to the world around us. This love for bold colors is even shaping car design, as automakers embrace creativity and individuality with exciting new palettes that make every drive extraordinary.

From the colorful options of the Chevy Equinox to the elegance of the Chevy Corvette, 2025 is the year to break free from dull grays and choose a car that reflects your personality.
