Forward Collision Alert & Automatic Emergency Braking

Ray Chevrolet is the best choice for a Fox Lake Chevrolet dealer. Why? Because we have the best sales team, the most talented service department, the best deals, and of course, we have the best selection of new and used Chevy vehicles. And one of the greatest assets of this iconic American car company is Chevrolet technology.

Forward Collision Alert Technology

Thanks to state-of-the-art safety technology on Chevrolet vehicles, you and your family can feel safer with Forward Collision Alert and the easily accessible, steering-wheel Collision Alert button. Designed to work with speeds above 5 mph, the Forward Collision Alert feature warns drivers that they are driving too closely to the vehicle in front of them. Using cameras, radars, or both to monitor vehicles directly ahead of your car, the Forward Collision Alert technology will alert the driver if it detects that a front-end collision situation is imminent. Forward Collision Alert detects vehicles 197 feet in front of vehicle and up to 360 feet with Adaptive Cruise Control. The Forward Collision Alert also features Tailgating Alert, where you can set distance alerts ranging from Far, Medium, Near or Off.

Forward Collision Indicators

With camera technology, the Forward Collision Alert will provide the driver with visual, auditory, and tactile warnings based on proximity of a vehicle. When your Chevrolet vehicle safely detects another vehicle ahead, the indicator will display green. When you are following a detected vehicle ahead too closely, the vehicle ahead indicator turns amber. When you are following another vehicle dangerously close, a red alert will flash on your windshield and you will hear 8 rapid beeps or you may feel seat pulses from the Safety Alert Seat, based on your settings.

Automatic Emergency Braking

Chevrolet auto stop technology makes the Forward Collision Alert system that much safer! Chevrolet’s Automatic Emergency Braking technology helps avoid or reduce the severity of a front-end collision by using camera technology that automatically provides hard emergency braking or enhances the driver’s hard braking. If the driver of the vehicle is approaching another vehicle too closely or at a rapid speed, and the vehicle’s technology determines that the driver is not taking sufficient action to slow or stop the vehicle, automatic emergency braking intervenes and will assist with stopping or slowing the vehicle. Certain Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking systems may also sense pedestrians and cyclists.
