Tahoe and Suburban Gets Bigger, Smarter and Smoother for 2021

After decades of production, the Chevy Suburban is the longest running nameplate in the industry. Along with its sibling, the Chevy Tahoe, the Suburban has been the best selling full-size SUV in the industry.

Last month, General Motors unveiled the 2021 Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe with a lot more space, optional power, and up to five display screens. When they go on sale later this year, the Suburban and Tahoe will tee off against some of its top competitors.

The 2021 Chevy Suburban’s wheelbase gains 4 inches, and 1.3 inches in overall length. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe’s wheelbase gains 4.9 inches, and 6.7 inches in overall length. These extra inches in the newer Tahoe model means much more space on the interior. Your passengers in the second row will find 3 extra inches of legroom compared to last years model, and third-row passengers will love the extra 10.1 inches in additional legroom. Suburban owners will find an extra 2.3 inches of legroom in the second row and 2.2 inches in the third.

With all of that being said, the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban are easy to spot on the road. The front end of these SUVs are very similar to that of the latest Silverado 1500 with standard LED headlights and taillights, but the sides are cleaner with strong lines that run from front to rear. There are six trims, the LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier and High Country, which all feature distinct design details.

A standard 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which works alongside an available 8-inch digital driver information display. High Country and Premier trim features a 15-inch head-up display while an available rear-seating entertainment system features dual 12.6-inch touchscreens.

Every Tahoe and Suburban will come standard with advanced safety technology including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear park assist, following distance indicator, and a seat-mounted side-impact airbag for the driver and front passenger. A surround view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, lane-change alert, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, active lane control, and front and rear parking sensors.
