The New Silverado Diesel Might Have A Highway Mileage Over 30 MPG
Chevy’s all-new Duramax turbodiesel engine just might be the very first pickup truck to get up to or even over 30 miles per gallon on the highway. Yes Chevy fans, you heard that right! Pushed back to a 2020 model year, this new vehicle is waiting for the EPA testing to be complete.
What can we expect from the 2020 Chevy Silverado? You can find that it produces a 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque that will far pass the F-150’s Power Stroke diesel that sits at only 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft.
Just wait, we are not done yet! If we are playing a number’s game the Chevrolet Silverado wins time after time against Ford and competitors. Chevy is working on creating this vehicle to have an amazing mile-per gallon on highway like none have done before.
According to Automotive News, the GM executive chief for truck engineering told sources that the Duramax’s internal testing went somewhere between 30-40 mph when being driven at a highway speed between 50-65mph. This is an awesome sign for what this Duramax will be capable of!
Aside from the new design and the Chevy Silverado mileage, one of the best features on this 3.0-L Duramax is its price. According to officials, it will cost the same as the 6.2-L V8 engine giving prospective buyers a tough decision to make between Chevy’s V8 noise and the Duramax mileage.
So, when can we get our hands on the new 2020 Chevy Silverado you might be asking? We can expect to see the new Silverado arrive later this summer. What better place to take this new incredibly impressive pickup truck for a test drive than right here on our lot at Ray Chevrolet!
