How to Use Your Chevy Memory Seats

At Ray Chevrolet, we love all the new tech features Chevy continually adds to their cars, trucks, and SUVs. Sometimes, they are safety features and sometimes they help with fuel economy. And sometimes, they’re all about convenience. Like memory seats, probably the single greatest invention since the light bulb.

Memory seats are great time savers. For couples or families with multiple drivers, it can be very aggravating to have to adjust the car seat every time you want to use the car to run a quick errand. Memory seats allow you to program two separate settings so you can get your individual seat setting as soon as you start the vehicle.

Memory seats are available on quite a few 2019 Chevy models, including:

  • Camaro
  • Corvette
  • Equinox
  • Impala
  • Malibu
  • Tahoe
  • Traverse
  • Silverado 1500
  • Suburban

Programming Your Memory Seats

If you chose a vehicle with the Chevrolet memory seats feature, you’ll get two remote keyless entry transmitters. To program the seat, locate the driver number. It’s the number that displays in the Driver Information Center that is a part of the vehicle’s gauge cluster. On the driver’s side door panel, you’ll see a set of buttons. These buttons are set, 1, 2 and then an exit icon. This is how you’ll program, and then recall, seat positions.

Make your adjustments. Go ahead and adjust everything to the exact position you are most comfortable with. Adjust mirrors and steering, in addition to the seats. With the engine on, press the set button. Once you hear a beep, press and hold the 1, or 2 button, whichever one matches you key. After you hear two beeps, release the button. You’ve successfully programmed your memory seat!

You can also have seats revert to your settings when the car is turned on. To do this you’ll need to turn this function on in the settings menu located in the Chevrolet Infotainment screen. Select the “vehicle’ button, then select “seating position”. This button may also be called the “Comfort and convenience” button in some models. Select “seat entry memory” then select on to engage this feature.

You can also adjust the seat and mirrors to different settings when you exit the vehicle. This great if you frequently park on a narrow street and need to pull in your mirrors, or raise the steering column to get out of the car more comfortably. To do this, make the adjustments, then press and hold the exit button until you hear two more beeps. Recall the setting by pressing and holding the exit button
