Among style, the exterior has also received some new updates and improvements. For instance, the cargo bed has been completely redesigned to provide up to 20 percent more cargo volume than ever before. Using high-strength roll-formed steel, the cargo bed is able to be much lighter and tougher. Additional upgrades to the cargo bed include better lighting around the hitch, cargo box, and perimeter, larger CornerStep footwells made to fit work boots, a 210-volt outlet, 12 standard tie-downs, and two tailgate options. The second tailgate option, the Power-Up/ Power-Down Tailgate, comes standard on the High Country trim.
Additionally, the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available with numerous engines. For example, the 6.2L V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management produces 420 horsepower and delivers 460lb-ft or torque. This engine comes in conjunction with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and is available on the LTZ and High Country trims. Second, the 5.3L V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management produces 355 horsepower and delivers 383 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Third, the 4.3L V6 with Active Fuel Management engine produces 285 horsepower and delivers 305 lb-ft f torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
