Here’s Why the Auto World is Freaking Out About the 2019 Silverado 1500 Truck
The new Chevrolet Silverado truck is headed to Chevy dealers near you and we’re pleased to report that it’s cooler, tougher and better than ever.
The new 2019 Silverado 1500 brings something unique to the classic pickup formula: a steel body and some of the best gas mileage you’ll find in any pickup around town. The truck’s ultra-strong, sturdy steel body once again places it in competition with the aluminum-body Ford F-150 pickup. Although both trucks boast lighter, more aerodynamic designs, the F-150’s pliable aluminum truck bed leaves it vulnerable to denting and abrasions.
According to Chevy, however, the Silverado’s use of “a higher-grade [steel] alloy in the roll-formed, high-strength-steel bed floor [contributes] to a bed that is more functional and lighter weight.” Ultimately, the new Silverado’s engineering improvements leave it poised to beat out the competition when it comes to towing capacity, fuel economy and general functionality.
Local Chevy dealers agree: Chevy’s unwavering dedication to reliability has never been more evident than inside the 2019 Silverado 1500 pickup.
“Our owners’ passion for Chevrolet trucks is truly humbling,” Alan Batey, president of GM North America and global head of Chevrolet, said in a recent statement. “Many of our owners depend on their trucks for work and play, personalize their trucks in astonishing ways and pass their loyalty for Chevy trucks down generation to generation.”
If you plan on continuing the Chevy pickup legacy within your family, we can guarantee that the new Silverado won’t let you down. And with its new exterior design featuring a bold grille, a double black crossbar and LED running lights, it’s sure to please your eyes as well as your wallet.
GM surveyed more than 7,000 Chevy truck owners to find out what features they wanted to see in a new model. The 2019 Silverado 1500’s ultra-masculine, rugged design is based off of the data the automaker was able to collect from those fans. So far, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive thanks to refined features like the truck’s narrow, high-mounted headlights, twin chrome tailpipes and ultra-sleek Chevy badges on its rear.
“2019 is going to be the year of the pickup battle,” Michelle Krebs, a senior analyst for Autotrader, explained. “These trucks are incredibly important.”
The pickup segment remains the largest and most profitable in the auto industry, with legions of loyal fans constantly on the hunt for the best truck on the market. We’re confident that the 2019 Silverado 1500 pickup truck will be the next big thing.
