Chevy SUV Gets Bigger and Better
Sorry minivans, you’re out and SUVs are in - no more soccer mom jokes, no more That 70’s Show references, and no more sacrificing the look of your car to have the most convenient thing for your lifestyle. The minivan days are over, and as the race continues, Chevy is keeping up. Chevy’s recent SUV models have been selling like crazy, and the 2018 Chevy Traverse is expected to do the same.
This Traverse will come with the option of either a standard and hybrid engine. There are six different options for this Traverse: LS, LT, RS, Premier, Redline, or High Country. They mostly vary on style and some minor performance differences. However Chevy found that certain features were necessary for every version of the Traverse, and according to Chevy it has “confidence written all over it.”
With the additions to exterior and what’s new under the hood, the 2018 Traverse will an all-over powerhouse. Comfortably seating up to eight people is an understatement. The SUV will provide a little personal bubble for each passenger to engine the smooth ride. How do we know it’s smooth? Well, the Traverse will have a 3.6 L V6 engine with a 9-speed transmission. There is a 310 level horsepower and 266 lb/ft torque, giving the SUV the capability to easily tow up to 5,000lbs.
With the way Chevy has handled safety in the past, there is no doubt the Traverse will include the same level of care. The 2018 Traverse SUV will have 14 main safety features, including a Convenience and Driver Confidence Package. The Traverse will come with surround vision and a rear camera mirror so that you can fit in any space. Other safety features vary depending on the type of style of Traverse.
Kelley Blue Book gave the Traverse an honest review, pointing out features people might not appreciate about the new midsize SUV. However overall the Traverse received great feedback- “all the modern tech you could ask for,” “sharp steering,” and “surprisingly satisfying.” It’s expected the Chevy 2018 Traverse will be debuted sometime over the next year.
